The development of Artificial Intelligence is hotting up. It’s central to many policy issues we will face in the near future.
The American Journalist Ezra Klein has recently interviewed several leading thinkers working in this area, none more interesting than Sam Altman, author of Moore’s Law for Everything. Klein writes ‘If Altman is right ( about how AI will develop) then A.I. will generate phenomenal wealth largely by destroying countless jobs — that’s a big part of how everything gets cheaper — and shifting huge amounts of wealth from labor to capital. And whether that world becomes a post-scarcity utopia or a feudal dystopia hinges on how wealth, power and dignity are then distributed — it hinges, in other words, on politics.
The interview is well worth hearing and is available on podcast at here.
